Jeanita has always had a hoe and some seeds in her hand from early childhood. Her husband, Jerome manned the shovel. Each place they have lived has been a horticulture adventure...plains, desert, foothills, areas rainy and dry, warm and cold and now, tropical. The Ives have owned Good Thymes Garden  herb farm and nursery, sold flowers at farmers markets, given garden tours, and taught classes in horticulture for many years. Their children grew up on milk from their own goats, meat from their barnyard, free range chickens and fruit from the orchards. She and her husband have built and remodeled several house each with its own unique garden and nature area always with “green” in mind before it was called green. With a science education, a lifetime interest in horticulture, and an artist’s eye, Jeanita turned to the camera to record her gardens and the life hidden within. These works of photo-art record her trophies.
